More Birthday Shenanigans

With my last post I wasn’t able to finish writing everything I did for my birthday. Although, technically these events were no longer on the day of my birth, they were still a part of the celebration.

The day after, and after I finished work, we went to my grandma’s house to have some ropa vieja (one of my favorite foods). For the cake she got me the usual ice cream cake. Every year for my birthday and my cousin’s birthday, she gets ice cream cake, and we (the birthday people) get to cut the pieces.

The 18 didn’t fully fit on the cake.

The day after this, my parents took me to something super awesome!

A grainy photo of us waiting for the show to start. XD

For a while I have heard that The Lion King was a wonderful musical. Finally, I was able to see it! It really was a spectacular thing to see, and I’d suggest it to anyone. The costumes are what really did it for me. I unfortunately don’t have pictures of anything related to it… but I do have another picture with my mom.

My selfie loving mom.

I wasn’t able to take a picture of my outfit here because it was crowded. My dad helped me take some around our home later that day.

Don’t worry, the train tracks aren’t in use.

I’m still working on being less shy in front of the camera.

Yep… still working on it.

I’d also like to take this time to talk about body positivity. As you can see from my pictures, I have a bit of a tummy, yet I’m wearing a form fitting dress. There are many girls that are skinnier than me that wouldn’t dare to wear such a thing because they believe they are “too fat”. There are also many bigger women that wouldn’t wear such a thing for the same reason. Everyone is beautiful, and even if someone rudely points out your tummy, show off your body proudly and ignore them. It’ll give you more confidence and it will lessen the negative feedback. Also, if you are trying to lose weight for any reason, whether it be for health or for looks, make sure it’s for you, not someone else. If you are criticized for not loving your body because of this, just remember that you do love it, and that’s why you’re willing to do what you believe is better for it. I’m currently trying to lose weight because I’m not exactly at a healthy weight for me height, but that doesn’t mean I love myself any less. I’m still wearing this dress, aren’t I?

Now we’re at the end of my birthday adventure. I hope you enjoyed reading about it, and get something out of my little body image rant. I will also start writing the components of my outfits in all of my posts after this, so if anyone is wondering about my outfit here just ask in the comments. Have a great day little corvids!
